supply/light/light/switch

anyone have a diagram for power > first light > second light > switch?

In the first light when the black goes to the white going to the second light at the second light does white stay with white and then on to the switch?. and when switching wires does black always still go to brass?

thanks

You will need a 3-wire cable between the two lights.

At the first light, the two neutral wires should be connected together and pigtailed to the light's neutral screw. The incoming hot goes to the black wire of the 3-wire cable. The 3-wire cable's red wire goes to the hot screw on the light.

At the second light, you should then have the 3-wire cable, and a 2-wire cable to the switch. Take the white wire from the switch cable and mark it black on the end. Wire as follows: 3-wire white to light fixture's neutral screw. 3-wire black to switch cable white. 3-wire red to switch cable black, and pigtailed to light fixture hot screw.

At the switch: switch cable white gets marked black at the end and connected to one screw on the light switch, switch cable black gets connected to the other screw.

In all boxes, all ground wires should be connected together and to device ground screws as appropriate.

Hope this quick & dirty explanation is helpful. I can try to clarify things if needed.
