Subpanel location

Can I locate my new subpanel above a washer and dryer?

"Technically" not really. You need to maintain a 36" open space in front of and 30" width.

There are many houses I go in where the panel is located in a laundry closet.

Yeah,I knew about that 30/36 rule, but if the appliances are in front but under the panel (leaving 30" clearance) wouldn't I be ok? This is a former garage being converted to a mudroom and I'd like to bring the laundry up into it.I'm pretty limited as to were the washer can go,ease of plumbing wise. The washer/dryer wont be there when I have the inspection done .
