subpanel in detached garage in NJ help

I would like to install a subpanel in detached garage.
Going to run Small Welder (230 30 AMP),
Air compressor (115 20 amp), Power hand tools and lights.
I need to know wire size? Both CU and ALUM
I calculated #2 Alum. or #3 CU. 4 wires H H N G

1. 200 amp service in house.
2. Detached garage 200' away.
3. Installing in 100 Amp panel in garage.
4. Like to use Underground Copper feed to Panel.

number 3 copper is correct. don't forget to keep neutrals and grounds seperate in your sub panel, and you will need a ground rod.

#2 Aluminum is too small for a 100 Amp panel, you'll need a #1 for that.

IF you use copper, then #3 is fine. However, you only need a #8 copper grounding conductor for the 4th wire.
