Stripping UF cable outer sheath

What is the best method for stripping the outer sheath of 10/3 with ground UF cable with out damaging the inner conductor insulation?

Thank you

They make a tool that will strip the sheath. For example: see http://www.idealindustries.com/prodD...cable_stripper

The one I have looks very different than the one in the link. About the only thing that is the same is that it is blue.

EDIT: I just noticed you specified 10/3. Here's another option: http://www.kinginnovation.com/produc...able-stripper/

The stripper I have looks closer to this one.

A sharp knife and a steady, light touch.

It helps if the cable is warm.

The way I do it is to lightly score the outer sheath along each conductor, not scoring completely through to the conductor insulation, then peel the sheathing back on the end of the conductor enough to grasp the conductor with a pair of pliers and the pull the sheath away from the conductor.
