Steel Building questions?


The only wire that i planed on running Alum. was the service wire due to the cost, but if it will be more headache then I will get #2 copper.

Also, make sure you are using anti-shorts at each mc connector. Many diyers forget to do this.

Al is pretty common on larger conductors. As long as it is installed with compatible devices and you use noalox, or similar, you will never have any trouble and save yourself a pile of cash.

Yes, I will be using Aluminum Armor MC Cable inside the building. But from my local elec. supply company I can get 2/0,2/0,2/0 service cable that has Alum. conductor wire.

Anti-shorts are not required with MC cable under the NEC.

I was not aware of that. They usually come with a roll of mc, so I have always used them. I will have to take a look in the cec to see if it says the same.
