single lever 2-pole breaker?

I've got a 2-slot breaker, but it's got a single-pole sized lever on one half of it and the other half has nothing. I assume this is just a cosmetic difference and it's a 2-pole/240v breaker? (I think it's a SquareD, but I don't recall for sure).
