Simplify Sunsmart Setup?

Hi! New member here (New Jersey USA). I too, am having all kinds of trouble getting the Sunsmart timer to work. Whoever designed the user interface misses the whole point of a light timer, which is to go on at dusk, and go off whenever you want.
I've gone through the setup several times, the electrician who installed it did too. The outside lights go on, but do not go off as per the set up.
Here's my question; can all those ridiculous settings, like zone, year (I mean, who the heck cares what year it is when turning on night lights, right?), and other needless parts of the setup be by-passed entirely, allowing the user to cut to the chase?
In my setup, I need; a clock to count the hours, a turn-on time, and a turn-off time.
Does anybody know a simple way to do this?

Thanks,

Ducati

You should post the model number so we could see if there is an online users guide.

Well, you bought a little more that just an on/off switch.
You will have to take time and go through the setup. It is a 7 day programmable timer and is probably quite similar to modern furnace thermostats.

What do you want us to do, come over to your house and program it for you? You bought the thing. If you didn't want a timer with these capabilities, you should have picked something that just does what you want. You bought an "astronomical time clock", as they are called. It has to know the date and latitude so it knows the exact times of sunrise and sunset (yes, there is a lot going on in there). The programming instructions are only one page long, and fairly straightforward as astronomical time clocks go. Just follow the instructions.
