Simple Outlet Timer
Most of the outlet timers have on/off settings that work day by day. I'm looking for a very simple device that lets you turn on an outlet for an hour or so up to 24 hours. If I could find this device I have few uses for it right away.
In the bathroom, we could plug in the curling iron and hit it to stay on for one hour then shut off.
In the kitchen the mornign coffe could stay on the two hours then shut down after we leave for work if we forget to shut it off.
In the garage, our electric mower says not to charge it for more than 24 hours at a time.
So I'm looking for a simple device to plug in the wall, then plug my device into it and hit the one hour button as many times as necessary for what I want.
Does anyone know if this device exists, and what it is called.
You can make your own using a spring-wind timer to control an outlet.
Get a length of 12 ga. cord, a male cord end, a 4" sq box, cord connector, an outlet, a 12 or 24 hour spring-wound timer, and a combo raised cover (duplex outlet/switch).
You can have the timer feed the outlet, just wind it to the time you want.
Here's a link to a timer:
I don't know of any manufacturer that makes this as a one-piece, direct plug-in device.
