Shower Lighting and fan stopped working (separate fixtures on same circuit)

The bedroom receptacles are on a regular breaker, not an arc fault breaker. In the breaker box, nothing was ever tripped. Should I consider having an electrician replace the breaker with an arc fault breaker? I am always willing to rewire switches, outlets, add fixtures, etc. My electrical understanding and competence is not significant enough to mess with the breaker box, and I should say that I have no desire to do that.
