Service panel grommet

The gromet in my panel has a tab on it that presses on the wire presumably to keep the wire from pulling out. I need another one and bLowes only has the round type that you might use for metal studs. I suppose it would protect the wire but is this sufficient for the panel or is the type with the tab a requirement?

Yes you need the tab. Just use a regular romex connector or stop by a supply house.

The tab is what secures the cable to the box. Replace the connector as stated earlier.

Thank you!

I found a metal clamp that the guy at the store told me would work. Does this look like the right one and can I put two wires through it?

Looks like the right clamp. Most are rated for two cables depending on the size and type? What cables are you installing?

It's 12/2

You are fine with two 12/2 cables in that connector.

Without knowing the manufacturer, I can't say if it is rated for two cables. I personally do not install two cables in that type of connector. When I need to double up cables I prefer the T&B 3201 plastic connector
