What is the proper way to secure 1/2" rigid conduit to a 4" square metal box which has 1/2" knockouts. I know locknuts fit on the rigid but there is no "stop" on the rigid so it kind of slides all the way thru the KO hole. Would using a locknut on the outside of the box be the right way?
The other end of my 1/2 rigid will be thru a rim joist and secured to a threaded hole on a box mounted on the outside of the house. The 4" square metal box will be inside as a junction point.

I have a 1/2" piece of rigid conduit that I'd like to secure to a 4" square metal box that has 1/2" KOs. I can provide a photo later. I don't have a specific connector for this that's why was asking if a locknut on the inside of the 4" square box and a locknut on the outside is the correct way
Put a regular EMT set screw connector in your box KO. Then secure the rigid into one end of this then use a short piece of EMT to your Set screw connector. Don't use locknuts on each end of the rigid.
For demonstration purposes imagine the box on the right is on the outside of the house and the 4" square on the left is on the inside of the house the piece of cardboard represents the rim joist.
