Secondary service
Hello,
Power company is bringing power to my house in Vermont. I have the 3" conduit in place. They are pulling about 1500 feet. It will be single Phase 120/240V and the meter socket will be about 270' away from the house. Is it acceptable to run URD 350-350-4/0 cable direct to my 200 amp load center (270' feet away) from the meter if I keep it in conduit right to panel? Why is the meter so far from the house? That seems incredibly inefficient, and may cause voltage drop problems. Since they are running primary in anyway, they really nees to locate the transformer and meter much closer to the point of use.
