sealing boxes and outlets

we are at the finishing drywall stage. I read here its important to 'seal' boxes and ceiling boxes, with what so it doesnt make a mess? Every body talks about doing this but nobody does it around here.

The box would be hard to work in for future adds or repairs, its hard to get to back of box with them full of wires. silicone would make such a mess

IF sealing is so important they shpuld come that way. Without all those air holes

and seal the box to the drywall? best product?

DAP foam in the can will work, to seal around them, after you finish the drywall hanging. Then place the foam gaskets under the wallplates for outlets and light switches.
