scraped insulation after pulling

After I pulled 14 AWG THHN through EMT I noticed some scrapes in the insulation. The outer layer which was clear was roughed up a bit and had several small tears in this layer. The underlying insulation appeared to be fine.

Is this common? Is is a concern?

Minor scrapes of the thermoplastic covering are not a concern. Cuts and scrapes that affect the actual insulation could be a problem.
My concern would be how you pulled these conductors to cause the issue.
