Samsung TV Extension Power cord

I need to buy a 15' power cord for my new Samsung TV with an L-shape that plugs into the TV.
Where can I find that?

I would start with Samsung... Give them a call.

"L" shaped like this?

That is on this site:

But if this is it, they are pretty common. Any decent electronics store or department should have them.

Search around online (Amazon and Newegg would be good places to look) for "IEC" cords. That's the name of the standard power connector on the TV.

monoprice, radioshack, partsexpress. Also, you are better locating a outlet nearer to the tv, than run a 15 foot cord.

CopperClad 06-24-2012 04:15 PM

Agreed. Pretty sure the code stating an outlet every 6' are to prevent people from running 15' extension cords to their tv's.

k_buz 06-24-2012 04:46 PM

There is no such code requiring an outlet every 6 feet.

CopperClad 06-24-2012 05:04 PM

NEC2005 Article 210.52(A)(1)SPACING. Recepticles shall be installed so that no point measured horizontally along the floor line in any wall space is more than 1.8m(6') from a recepticle outlet. Also NEC2005

CopperClad 06-24-2012 05:12 PM

sorry. I think I copy and pasted that from a yahoo answer.. I can't find it but I could have swore in the 2011 NEC update they changed it to 6'.. :whistling2:

k_buz 06-24-2012 08:40 PM

Nope:no:

Here k_buz, since you seem to think that it is FUD:

http://www.ezdiyelectricity.com/?p=95 I will give you a clue. 210.52(A)

CopperClad 06-24-2012 09:14 PM

Yeah, that's the old one I posted as well.. I could have swore I read some where that they did change it to every 6' in the 2011 update.. I couldn't find it though.. And I'm not paying to download it. I gave up looking. So I guess it's still the same..

And I suppose you install counter top receptacles every 2' as well.

Can you tell me where it says that outlets have to be spaced 6' apart?

Jim Port 06-24-2012 09:47 PM

You won't find the change to every 6'. It was not changed.

I love the imaginary code sightings we get on here.
