I'm in the process of running a new circuit from the basement panel up to the attic, which I will use to feed into the master bedroom for a new outlet. I have a path from the attic to the basement running near the sewer vent pipe. It is a straight shot and the easiest path I can find from attic to basement. 2 questions:
1) Is this an acceptable path to use for the electrical cabling?
2) I can actually see from attic to basement through this space, making this a fairly easy run--however, I don't know how I'd secure the cable, except at the top (attic) and bottom (basement). The run is about 40 feet, top to bottom. Any suggestions? Is it acceptable to leave it unsecured through this area?
