Running Electical plug behind wall

Can I run the electrical plug from my tv inside the wall (interior) and then have it exit somewhere near the baseboard? Are there any issues with running it behind the wall?

No you can't. But what you CAN do, and should do, is add a new receptacle downstream of the one (that I assume is) near where you were going to "exit" the wall.

Other than being a blatant code violation...yes there are, but there's no reason to go into it. It's a code violation, 'nuf said.

Are you trying to hang an lcd/plasma on the wall and hide the cords?

If so, best thing I've found is to get a clock receptacle and wire it behind the tv. The tv can plug right into it no problems and the clock receptacle gives enough clearance for the plug to sit behind the tv.

Clock receptacle is a basic receptacle that is recessed to fit a plug and its stubby end inside to allow clearance for a clock/tv...
