Run wire to Breezeway through brick and up brick wall
I need to run wire from basement to attached breezeway to add a ceiling light and an outlet -15 amp circuit. It will be going through brick (about 1 foot from floor in breezeway) and up brick wall to switch box. Then continue up to 10 ft high ceiling which is plywood. I know I need conduit going through brick. Steel or PVC? Does the conduit go into the back of a mounted box at the hole and then another run straight up to switch and another up to ceiling? Can I use surface mount raceway and boxes which would lookk better, instead of conduit up the brick wall? If so, how do I transition?
Right now there is grey romex going through brick without conduit into the back of a metal surface mount. Then there is a piece of 8 ft conduit going up brick wall and the grey romex is coming out which is stapled to the ceiling.
