Rewiring post light

is there an illustrated sequence to rewiring my back yard post light. Am sure the underground wiring is bad. Even tho I removed the bulb it still blew a fuse.

Probably it's ok. Unless there was digging or rabid gophers. In the post inside the base or inside just under the fixture (bulb holder) there are wire nuts. Take these splices apart and reset the fuse. If the fuse holds, the problem's in the post light not the Underground wires.

Fuse!? I'd be much more comfortable if all the underground wires were GFCI protected. Sometimes it's required.
