Rewiring pool pump

i wanted to rewire my pool pump because the cutoff switch outside is rusted like nuts in and out and i dont think thats to safe, and the timer is busted. it has BX cable from the panel to the cutoff switch outside and timer in the basement. i found a outdoor plastic box cutoff switch, a new timer in the basement, the rubber/plastic tubing to run the hot, neutral and insulated ground wires in, and 12/2 wire. my concern is with the breaker, its a standard 20 amp. now, isnt a GFCI breaker needed with a pool pump? i found all at lowe's. any recommendations, tips, better ideas would be appreciated.

Rewiring pool pump

Yes it does need a GFCI breaker
If it was 240v it was not required in the past
But they changed the code
