Reverse current?

I do some soldering and minor welding in my shop. I need to ventilate the space with fresh air intermitanly. The fan is hooked up to a controller with a 120v plug. I also need to heat/cool this room but having the heater or air conditioner on when the ventilation is on seems like a bit of a waste. Is there something I can plug into the controller that tells the heat/ac to switch off when the power to the controller activates? The ac and heater are both portable with 120v plugs.

Motor controller. Normally closed contactors assign to the heat/ac, normally opened controllers assign to the ventilation fan.
