replacing a self contained rocker switch with a sensor switch
hi-first i'd like to tell you i am a novice electrician. i realize i'm writing more than i need to but i don't want to leave anything out.
OK, i live in a manufactured home and i would like to replace the laundryroom light switch. there are 2 "self contained rocker" switches side by side. one for the laundry room light and the other for the outside light. (first mistake) when i removed the switch for the laundry room i didn't really pay attention to what bundle came from where. i also didn't realize that the existing wires were 3 separate bundles.
(second) the new switch i am attempting to put in is an occupancy sensor switch and it only has the 3 wires that i am used to seeing (red, black and green). so my question is: can i still replace the old with the new? and more importantly, HOW? without calling in the experts.
any help sure would be appreciated. illustrations would be really helpful.
thanking any and all in advance.
