Replacing low voltage system/switches

I've been reading various posts and 'think' I understand this although I have no experience with low voltage lighting systems. Can I replace the old switches (and eventually the entire system) by simply connecting the j-box feed directly to the 120v feeding the transformer (in a new large j-box to accommodate all of these in one spot) and then run wire from the existing switch box (with a new switch) to the fixture j-box?
Thanks for your input.

Not likely, depending upon where the switching relays are located. The 120 volt transformer power line is not the same power that is being supplied to your fixtures. The circuits are probably different depending upon the lighting loads.

Thanks brric
Is there anyway to bypass the whole thing other than pulling new line to the main panel?
