replacing ceciling fan

The wiring coming from our ceiling are Black, Red, White, & Green
The wiring coming from new fan are Black, Blue, White, & Green. We do not know where the Red wire should go to? Directions state: black-ceiling to Black, Blue of fan, white to white and green to green.??????

Sounds like you are setup for two switch operation. Black to black, red to blue, white to white, all greens and bares connected together.

Answers based on the National Electrical Code. Local amendments may apply. Check with your local building officials.
