Replacing 3-way switches - what is this extra wire?

I know several of the guys at the Parts distribution center and a few at stamping . Do you know Bill Jackson and Don Deel?

Yes, Both Electricians and Union officials. Don is out, lost the election, Bill is still in. Both have not retired yet, so they're still busy.
