Electrical newbie here. I replaced my dining room fixture and a light fixture in my kitchen. The dining room light was easy as the wire ends were exposed for connecting into the proper white/black wire nuts.
But.... my kitchen replacement light (a small two light bulb receptacle with cover) had what the manual called "speed wire clips" attached to each end of the white and black wires. The manual states "be sure the supply circuit wires are single solid brass, stranded wires are not fit for use." The supply wires would not have fit in the small hole receptacle of the speed wire clip as there were multiple wires connected together, so I just cut the wire clips off and connected them with the wire nuts used for the old light fixture.
The light works fine, but just worried why the manual would state this. It's a standard, run of the mill 2 bulb light fixture and was basically the same type of connection and style as the one I removed, just different aesthetically. Basically looks like this:
