I am really tired now, been a long day. I'm going to go to bed and think about this fresh in the morning.

I think I can give you step by step instructions and have you hook up one thing at a time, checking carefully at every step, and get this figured out and back together.

Then I can tell you how to hook up the outside plug.

You will need a waterproof outside box, a GFCI receptacle, 14-2 wire, twist on wire nuts, and a weather tight cover like this.

OK, please do this next.

I think you said that there were 5 outlets and the outside light on this circuit. Did the outside light work? If not, is it just the lightbulb?

So, please turn the breaker off and check the outlets and find out which ones are dead and exactly how many are dead. Check both the top and bottom in each one.

Leave all the wires in that box unhooked and touching nothing and turn the breaker back on.

Check all of the outlets that were dead, and see which ones are now on. Check both the top and bottom in each one again. Also check the outside light.

Make a drawing of the room, take a picture of it, and let me know what you find out and we will go from there.

Make a drawing like this (but of your room):

I checked how many outlets are effected are there are 7 outlets and one light that are affected. 4 outlets worked when i turn the barker to the on position, 3 outlets and the outside light do not.

I have attached a drawing hopefully you can see and read it if not let me know and i will try again.

Thank you so much!

Did the outside light work before?

Did you check both outlets, top and bottom in each one?

Which one is the one you took apart?

I was having trouble with the site here last night.

Yes the outside light worked before.
Yes i check both top and bottom outlets.
The outlet i took apart was the one next to the door.

I believe the line that i have question mark on feeds power to the outside light and the recpticals that don't have power when i flip the breaker to on.

Thanks.

Yes, I think so too.

so next, with breaker off, connect the black wire that is hot to the black wire with the question mark with a wire nut, and connect the white to the white.

Leave the one marked switch completely disconnected.

Then turn on the breaker and see what works.

If all goes well, I'll send you a picture of exactly how to hook everything up!
