Removing rust on terminals

What is a good way to remove rust (severe brown corrosion, not the lighter green stuff) from typical device teriminal (capacitors, relays, contactors). As for the female terminals on the ends of wires, I replace them, but I want to continue using the devices.

I don't want something to preserve terminals and prevent rust, but to get rid of it.

Removing rust on terminals

Most of the devices you list don't have terminals made of ferrous metals that rust. You can get small brass brushes at most hardware stores that will work for this. Radio Shack used to carry contact cleaner. Spray and brush.
