Remove light switch

I am refinishing some drywall, and I want to remove a light switch that I no longer need. Can I just unscrew the wires from the light switch and patch it up? Is there any issue with breaking the circuit (will I lose all power on that wall?)? Should I protect the exposed wiring somehow before patching?

Remove light switch

You should disconnect the switch to see if anything else is fed from it. Then trace wiring and disconnect feeder for switch remove wiring/ box, patch away!

Remove light switch

If there are more than 2 wires in it (one cable) do NOT patch over it.

I will hunt you down and kick your ass

Only two wires, cap them, put a blank cover on the box and patch away.

A simple blank cover is always the best approach. Someday, someone may want to unremodel your remodel.
