Remodeling upper...existing runs to the basement?

I am remodeling the upper level of my home and was curious to know what people do with existing runs to the basement from the attic area. My basement is competely finished. If I'm taking walls down and moving them on the upper level, what do you do with existing runs travelling down walls that will be moved? The existing wiring is run through conduit...1967 vintage. Will I need to replace all that wiring and runs from the panel and fish to the basement?

Are any of the walls that you are moving load bearing walls?

Some are load bearing. Most are not.

The unused wires in the conduit can be just pulled out. Pull in a string so you can pull new wires in when needed.

There is no need to replace any wires that can be used again if they are the the correct guage and length.
