refurbish 60A fuse holder

I have a fuse box with 2x60A fuses. One of the fuses blew often.

i learned that the burn mark on the fuse holder may cause it to burn again easily. There was burn mark on it.

Since I can't find a replacement holder, is there a way for me to refurbish the burned fuse holder? sand it? soak it in vinegar...?

Cleaning up the metal to improve electrical contact is possable !
But it is not just about the cleanlyness of the metal,
Its also about the tension of the metal,
overtime and due maily to heat,
the metal losses it tension and wont hold the fuse tightly.

So if it is clean and tight you could try it,
and see how it holds up.

But most people prefer NOT to take chances like that.

Such a fuse holder clamp is worn out. It won't "repair" and has lost its ability to hold a fuse tight.

Best thing to do here is replace the whole box with a decent breaker panel.

Hohadcr.,

I know you may not like to hear this answer here but once that fuse holder got overheated few time it will loose it holding format and the only way you can slove it is replace with modern panel with breakers.

That will take care the issue with it.

A new fused disconnect is probably less than $20.
