Can you tell me if I can a hair drier into a outlet controlled by a dimmer to reduce the heat flow, safely? :confused:

I vote no. Instructions on a light dimmer would probably say the same. I don't think a motor control reostat would work either. Hopefully some more experienced guys will be along here soon. HS.

The answer is no. As stated by hammerslammer. Using a dimmer on an outlet is against code. If you want less heat, buy a less powerful hairdryer!
