I have an awning over my side door. I see hanging ceiling fixtures at my local stores, but I need a recessed light so a screen door will clear. Do I have to use a specific type of light fixture outdoors ?
Thanks,
Scott
Thanks for the response.
Yes, there is room for it. The awning is about 4'x4', already has an existing feed and switch. So I guess I can just use a highhat that I'd use indoors ?
Thanks again
Sorry, let me back up a bit.
There was an original awning in place over the side door. It had a light and switch and worked. I recently had some work done in the house, and in the process, the contractors damaged it, so they replaced it with this new one and left a line there for a light. It sticks out of the side of the house, so there is no other roof, mansard or whatever they're called connected to it. It's got siding and shingles, so it's protected from the elements.
Does this make sense ?
Thanks Again
