Recessed lighting, new or old work preference?
I am redoing my kitchen and have opened up the ceiling. Besides the rats nest of wiring I need to remove I was thinking about the lighting I will be putting in. the lighting will consist of around 7X 5” cans. The kitchen is only about 10x10’. I am new to dry wall but I have done some and know the correct methods; it just might take me a little longer. My question is what is everyone’s preference on recessed lighting? Put in new work lights, measure and precut all the holes in the sheetrock or put the wiring close to where you want the light, hang the drywall and put old work lights in? This question might be silly because I doubt the electricians are concerned with the drywall but I thought I might try.
