recessed lighting
Am in the final stage of redoing the kitchen. Three 4" Halo recessed lighting fixtures have been installed over the sink. The electrician has already installed the cans, but they do not stay in place. They are designed for renovations, not new construction; therefore, the baffles do not stay flush on the ceiling even though they have 3 springs. The new ceiling is already in place. Is there anything we can do other than rip everything apart and start all over?

Double check the springs were installed correcly.
Some cans have wing nuts to adjust the depth of the bulbs in the fixture, mught want to try loosing them and sliding them in deeper.

I am reading that the entire can is dropping down, which results in the trim not being against the ceiling.

The better remodel cans have a clip locking design. Are you locking the clips in place ?

For halo cans
Figure 2
While holding the clip flat against the can , push the clip upwards (small arrow)
Some times you can do it with your thumb, but you might get a better lock by pushing on the small tab with a screwdriver.
To release it, you need to push downwards, before pulling the clip back into the can. (Fig 3)
