Recessed light trim not flush

I'm in a new house. The cans are Lithonia LC6. A lot of the trim rings do not fit tight against the ceiling. Is there any way to remedy this?

Recessed light trim not flush

Have you removed any trims yourself? Do you know how they are secured to the recessed can? They will probably be either springs or tension arms that need to be compressed and then slid into a c-shaped channel on opposite sides of the can.
