recessed light

I plan on installing a IC recessed light in my hall where there is an existing light fixture. I did some research and found that most of the remodeling cans require 90 celsius wiring. My house wiring is all 60c. Are there 60c recessed fixtures sold or is it the norm to replace the power supply with the nm-b cable? Also I read some states might require conduits for supply cable. I live in NJ and can't find any info on recessed light codes. thanks

Here's how you handle that...

Since you have an existing fixture, it will be mounted on a junction box. I'm assuming you have an accessible attic above. Pry the junction box off the joist and flip it up into the attic. Run a short piece of modern 90* romex from that junction box to the new recessed light. Blank plate that old junction box and leave it exposed in the attic.

If you do no have access from above, the procedure is slightly different.
