Recessed (IC) lighting brand?

Just wondering if anyone has a suggestion as to which brand I should buy. I have heard the ones at HD are pretty much crap (consumers electric) I think it was.

The HD in my area carries a brand called " Commercial electric". Never used 'em.

We usually use either Juno,or Halo. Both seem to have a good selection of trims/baffles,and they seem to fit and look better than some of the other brands.

Several brands out there I have no experience with,and they might be just as good.

I prefer Juno myself, but I put up about 75 of the Commercial electric brand (from HD) in a house, and they weren't too bad. Better than Thomas brand by far! I haven't done the final yet, so I can't speak on the trims, and won't comment on the availability of trim assortment-just don't know.

Thank you for the information. I did find a 10 pack of Halo IC 6" lights for $75 at HD, where would I find the Juno lights?

Electrical supply house. Juno is the brand my employer uses, so I've installed literally 100's - really 1000's

Thats a good price, IMO. If Halo has the trims you like, I would just go with them. $7.50 a can is a good price, I think.

I thought it was a good price also, but I dont mind paying more for quality. I am going to check out the Juno lights on Monday.

Leave the Commercial Electric on the shelf at HD, it is junk. Halo now makes cans/trims with a clip in bulb holder/baffle unit like the Lightolier brand. These are decent, and a major step up from the trashy trim rings held in place by springs. Although they cost more, I still like the quality of the Lightolier product.

Just purchased 2 Halo fixtures from Lowes for $6 a piece. They installed great and the adjustment on them looks like I'll have plenty of room to work with them.

Never used others so I don't know what the're like.
