Recessed Can light making noise

Awhile ago i installed two 6'' halo LED recessed can lights in my bedroom above my bed. I noticed that one of the lights makes a noise every now and then. Its not consistant but it is noticable when sitting in the room for a extended period of time.

The best way to discribe this noise i would say it is a single "clink"
the light is not shorting out or arching or flickering.

I would say it is just the metal in the can heating up and causing this noise. But only one light is doing it.

Anybody every hear of a can light making this "clinking" noise? or what might be going on?

Thanks.

I pulled switch power off of the closest receptacle, witch also powers a few other things in this room. Tv and fish aquarium.

Could this be the issue? Should i have pulled power from a lighting circuit instead of the power circuit?

Does not sound like an electrical problem.
It could be the metal heating up, and a loose rivet or something in the can.

that would be my guess seems like expanison in the fixture due to heat...

thats what im thinking...I paid 80 somthing bucks a piece for these lights. I would think they would not have that issue...O well. its not bad and im probably the only person who will ever notice it. Just thought id see if anybody ever incountered this.

LEDs are tricky from the manufacturing standpoint, because of heat issues --

My guess -- as you and others have also -- is the heat is causing this noise at some point --there's expansion / contraction going on.

Heat "sinking" is very critical to LED life performance -- I wonder if there's a difference between the 2 fixtures, and the heat sink is "loose?"

Will be interesting to know what you find out.

Swap the bulb between the one clicks and one that does not.
