It depends on the rating of the circuit breaker, gauge of the branch line, and loads you anticipate using. It also depends on the type of circuit in question. We need more information before anyone can begin to give an answer.
Are you talking about an existing circuit? If so, what all is on the circuit currently, and what areas/rooms of the house and served by the breaker?
If this is new circuit, explain what you are intending to do. That will help get a good answer.
In Canada the outlet limit is 12. The fan counts as one so you can add 11.
In US under NEC there is no limit.
