Receptacle in Medicine Cabinet: Code Compliant?

As part of a bathroom renovation, Id like to install a recessed medicine cabinet and add to its interior a duplex receptacle for electric toothbrushes. There will be a second duplex receptacle located on the wall above a 24-inch vanity.

One general contractor told me that adding the receptacle wouldnt be a problem; another said that this wouldn't be code compliant. Whos correct? I cant find anything in the 2010 California Electrical Code (its based on the 2008 NEC) that supports either claim. If a duplex receptacle cannot be located within a medicine cabinet, would you kindly: 1) point me to the proper code provision, and 2) explain the difference between that what Im proposing, and a prefabricated medicine cabinet that has built-in receptacles.

For reference, the 2010 California code is here:

https://bulk.resource.org/codes.gov/bsc.ca.gov/

Thanks for your opinions. I appreciate them.

There is no issue with installing a receptacle inside a cabinet, BUT... this receptacle cannot replace the required bathroom receptacle.

I would say it is OK as long as it is GFI protected and on a 20A bathroom receptacle circuit.

Does every question posted here receive such prompt responses? I'm amazed.

@stickboy1375: The receptacle in the medicine cabinet would be in addition to the minimum number of receptacles required by code.

@k_buz: It would be GFIC protected and on a proper circuit. I'll hire a licensed electrician to be sure of it.

Thanks for your replies.

Trouble is there' not usually enough room for the base of a lot of chargers, nor height for the gizmo without losing all the other shelves.

Robern sells cabinets with outlets like this in them.
