re-use old 220V AL wiring

In the house there was an old 100amp panel with a 220V line run off it about 35-45 feet to an outlet. I believe it was on a 30amp breaker. The cable is in good shape, no fraying or damage, but it appears to be cloth jacketed. When the panel was upgraded, it was left disconnected. Would it be safe to re-use this cable?

Depend on what you want to use it for and if the cable is three or four wire.

Cable has 3 thick wires. It would be used for an air compressor. In the future I might get a welder, but that's a big if right now, so if it needs to be upgraded at that time, it could be.
