Is it ok to have two whites at a lighting fixture as long as one white is identified with black tape as a ungrounded conductor or do i need to rewire this so i end up with a black and white at the lighting fixture. I did this project and i have 2 threeways and 2 fourways. I am going from switch to light to switch. So first threeway than fourway fourway and than last threeway. I went from the first switch to the light and put my neutral on the light. Than I passed the black and red through as travelers and returned back to the light with a white and reidentified it with black tape. Just wanted to know if this is code or do i need to use a white as a trveler reidentified with tape and end up with a black at the light.
Just found the answer to my own question. Nec code 200.7 c 2 states that white conductor reidentified with tape may only be permitted to be used to supply switch with power and not be allowed to be used to supply outlet or light with power. Thanks
