Question on AFIC

Are these two AFICís the same? They seem to be the same except for the description in the package and the test buttons. Both are made by the same company and both seem to detect parallel arcing faults. I was thinking that maybe the one of the left is just an early version. Can I use both in my box as an AFIC and be within code?

Thinks in Advance,

I see the tag inside reads as follows:

Green - Circuit Breaker and Branch / Feeder Arc-Fault Circuit Interrupter.

White - Circuit Breaker and combination Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter.

Yellow Ė Circuit Breaker and Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter.

The latest edition of the code requires the combination AFCI. Earlier editions just required AFCI.

Answers based on the National Electrical Code. Local amendments may apply. Check with your local building officials.

Thanks Jim, That's what I was reading. I have the newer ones in the house. I really didn't need these but figured I'll use them in her craft room along with the GFI's Then again, I seem to do an overkill when it comes to elect and the wife. She does a lot of stained glass and always cutting glass or grinding glass in water.

For any lurkers out there, if you encounter a BLUE test button on any Square D Arc-fault breaker, those are the really O-L-D ones, some of which were recalled!
