Question about outdoor lighting

I am going to install 2 outdoor lights and I will be using an orange outdoor power cord, (do not want these permanent). The lights have a BLACK wire and a WHITE wire. I will be cutting the power cord and splicing the lights in. What wires do I need to use?

thanks

Not legal.

Where do you intend to tap these into? If you don't want them permanent, why not leave the plug on and simply plug them into an outlet?

While I cannot confirm this illegal, it sure sounds flakey and I would tend to believe JohnJ0906 is correct. Could you not add an outlet at the proper location and simply plug these in?

John is correct for a couple of reasons. Cord is not to be used in place of permanent wiring. Also the fixtures are not listed for use that way.
