Question about high hat

Hello. I have a quick question. I am installing 6 halo recessed lights in my basement and I have to cut out the tiles to meet the lights. My question is , with the springs that go from the baffle trim to the actual interior of the high hat, can I use wire that I used for my drop ceiling to bring the baffle trim down further to meet the drop ceiling tiles?

Thanks again.

Question about high hat

The fixture should extend through the tile. You should have mounted the spreader bars on the ceiling Tees, not the framing.

Question about high hat

No, you cannot do it. As stated above, you need to mount the fixtures to the ceiling grid.
