Okay so here's the thing, I have one of them 2 family doorbell buttons and the first floor button is worn out. I mean you push the button the bell might ring or might not. Sometimes when the front door closes the doorbell rings, ugh. So I was thinking about replacing it, any thoughts?
Should I just replace it with the same kind, or can I do something different?? When I removed the button plate outside of the house there is a hole where all the wires are. And I really can't find a replacement at any homedepot or lowes by me. It's like nobody makes them anymore.
Well I included a picture of what it kinda looks like but mine is black.
Depends on what you can find that can be installed with a minimum of repainting and refinishing around it.
Two single doorbell buttons will probably cost a lot less than one double.
You might be able to dissect and repair the old button unit.
When cleaning anything including baby diapers, it is better to sweep off or scrape off as much solid and semisolid material as you can first. (1) Less cleaning fluid or detergent needs to be used, (2) Less of a mushy mess which in turn means that bleaches or disinfectants will be more effective.
