can pvc conduit be run in a commercial building

Hi Flgatortom,
Can use pvc as long as it is the grey electrical type and a ground wire is included, at least in these parts ya can, don't know about other areas.

pvc pipe


You cannot use PVC in an are used as plenum air return, such as a ceiling designed as such. Sometimes a tile ceiling will be used as the actual return air duct for the air conditioning system, and no PVC can be used in such a space.

Very true, and very common for the above-ceiling plenum to be used for R/A in commercial buildings!

When I worked commercial in S. Florida (high rise condos) we used PVC for the first floor underground and in slabs. After the first floor we transitioned to EMT.
