Question

Pulling power for new lights

I'd like to add 3x50 pendants in the kitchen and am wondering where I can draw power from (that will meet code) - I'd like this to be independantly switched from the main lights and the switch for those lights is really hard to reach to run new cable:

1) From one the counter top outlets (i.e. install a double box with a switch)

2) From the garbage disposal switch (i.e. replace the box as above)

Thanks!

Terry

No.. you cannot put lights on your countertop small appliance circuits, per code.

This option will meet code. Be advised that you might get a slight "wink" in the lights when you start the disposer.
