problem in wiring white LED

1. how is the voltage of a white LED? is it 3.6V? how much is the current [<20mA?]?
2. can it be lighted up by just wiring three rechargable batteries with the LED? do i also need a resister or something like this?
3. can i parellel two or more LEDs?
4. how can i use one battery to light up one 3.6V LED [for example, add some capacitor]?
5. if the capacity of a battery is 600mAh, what is the total light-up time?

What exactly are you trying to do?

illuminate a very small space

The forward bias voltage drop of the LED will depend upon EXACTLY which type of LED you have. Please provide exact details of the LED.

You will need a current limiting resistor.

3. can i parellel two or more LEDs?
It is a bad idea to parallel LEDs.

4. how can i use one battery to light up one 3.6V LED [for example, add some capacitor]?
See the answer to Q2.

5. if the capacity of a battery is 600mAh, what is the total light-up time?

This depends upon the size of the current limiting resistor & therefore the forward bias current.

Please provide details about;

1] the exact type of LEDs you wish to use,
2] the number of LEDs you wish to use,
3] the supply voltage (battery voltage).

elkangorito, nice reply. I'm glad someone was able to field this one. Can we try and guess what this is for?
I'm going to say it is for a glove compartment. (just a guess):)
